The Veridus Group’s Civil Engineering team provided the civil design on a well-known haunted attraction in Indianapolis. Our work on the Thirteenth Hour Haunted Attraction project included site and utility design, stormwater management, and permitting for the construction of a new building with amenities to bring the vacant and dormant site to life.
Although there were unique challenges to developing this site that included unconsolidated fill, poor water pressure, and floodplains, our Civil Engineering team partnered with the owner to design the site and strategize on permitting – allowing the immersive haunted attraction to come to fruition.
To overcome one of those hurdles, the facility now includes a new water tank for the fire suppression system, which is hidden from view of the guests. While designing the system, there was a leftover ring that is now used as the ring of the Thirteenth Hour entrance clock – a featured piece on the outside of the haunted house.
