The City of Gary engaged Veridus to attract investment and manage a number of redevelopment initiatives to usher for the city. Historically the cultural and economic engine of Lake County, Gary’s focus is on the regeneration and revitalization of its urban core. The city is located only 25 miles from Chicago and with an important addition to the South Shore Line, is poised to pull incredible investment for commercial and residential projects.
Due to the unique investors and interested parties passionate about revitalizing Gary, Veridus is assisting the city by performing due diligence on priority assets and positioning these assets for economic development opportunities. Veridus is also focused on the redevelopment of opportunity areas within the city, and streamlining the development process in terms of incentives, planning and zoning, as well as approval processes with the city’s council and commissions. We also have managed building assessments for priority city-owned properties to prime them for redevelopment.
